A Celebration of Success in The Arts

The beginning of Term 4 has been a busy but exciting time for staff and students in The Arts. On 16 October, our dance students showcased their talents at the annual Dance Night. The evening was filled with solo, duo, trio, and group performances of class work, student choreographed work, and the eisteddfod routines. The students dedicated a lot of time to choreography and rehearsals and this paid off on the night with wonderful feedback from the audience, plenty of smiles and even tears of joy from our performers. Congratulations to all students who were involved in Dance Night. It was a fantastic performance and something to be very proud of. Thank you to parents, families, friends, and staff for coming along to enjoy the night and support our students.
During the September holidays, Year 12 student, Geordie Thomson, attended the Queensland Conservatorium for the annual prestigious State Honours Ensemble Program. The SHEP event provides an opportunity for secondary school (Years 7-12 inclusive) wind, brass, percussion, string and voice students to work in an intensive environment of musical excellence, with their peers, under the leadership of a team of internationally eminent Australian conductors. Geordie represented Caboolture State High School playing the French Horn and worked alongside renowned international and national conductors. He participated in four days of intensive rehearsals culminating in five Grand Finale Concerts for the public. Congratulations and well done to Geordie.
We now look forward to our Halloween themed MAD Night on Wednesday 31st October at 6.30pm in P Block (Caboolture State High School). The night will showcase our Music, Drama and Art subjects with student performances, a wearable art parade and exhibition of student artwork. It will be a gold coin donation at the door. We hope to see you there.
Thank you to students, parents, and families for your continuous support of The Arts at Caboolture State High School.
