From the Principal's desk

23/10/2017
Welcome back to Term 4 and as you have already noticed, there is a change in picture. Mr Box is taking a well-deserved holiday for this term and I will be acting Principal in his absence. I am not new to Caboolture and the Northern suburbs area and after spending 15 years in our neighbouring schools in various leadership roles I certainly understand the needs of our school and wider community well.
Thank you to the students, parents and staff for the warm welcome; I have been overwhelmed by the energy, passion and support for students and each other. Caboolture State High is certainly hitting above its belt when compared to many State and Private schools. Caboolture State High can certainly hold its head up as a great school. I have been absolutely impressed with the variety of curriculum offerings, the extension program, the quality of support programs and range of the extra-curriculum activities available to students. In saying that many schools would also argue they have a similar offerings, however Caboolture State High has one more additional feature, a staff that is absolutely committed to helping every student succeed. The passion, energy, commitment and loyalty to students, the school and community has really left me in awe; it is really a privilege to be part of Caboolture State High School.
If you haven’t been to a Dance Night, can I encourage you to attend next year’s, it is really a show that everyone needs to see. The variety of dance styles and choreography was spectacular and when you find out that the students designed most of the choreography themselves as part of their studies, it makes it even more special. A big thank you to Ms Dann, her team of teachers, students and parents for the hours of rehearsals that made the event a great extravaganza.
Having a balanced life in the modern era is paramount with the pace of life. It is undeniable that physical exercise improves, health, mental alertness and contributes to better learning in the classroom. After attending the Sports Awards Night and now seeing the Awards Night recipient lists this is quite evident. It was fantastic to see the diversity of district and regional success that Caboolture State High students achieved at an individual and team level. With many of our students dominating across a range of sports. A special thanks to Mrs Corbett and her team for organising the Sports Awards Night, it was truly one of the best I have attended.
Christmas has come early for Caboolture State High School, we are currently in the process of determining the scope of works for an 8 space double storey learning facility that will have state of art technology and design architecture. The intended purpose of the new learning facility will be as a Senior Precinct that will cater for 21st Century learning, timelines are still in draft however handover will occur prior to October 2019.
