Year 7 Geography News

In Term 1, our Year 7 Geography classes studied the liveability of places around the world. As part of the liveability unit, our students participated in a school-based workshop facilitated by the Moreton Bay Regional Council (MBRC).  During the workshop, the MBRC team guided our students through the practices they use when planning and designing parks in our community. The students demonstrated our PRIDE values as they worked collaboratively with their peers and the MBRC team to plan and map a range of parks. The students gained an understanding of how the size of a space and the population of an area influence the type of park developed.
To conclude the liveability unit, our students applied a range of geographical skills as they conducted research and redesigned parks due for rejuvenation in our community. The MBRC are looking forward to reviewing a selection of park proposals created by our students.
Thank you to Mitchell Schoenmaker, Vaughn Mickan and Councillor Adam Hain from the Moreton Bay Regional Council for facilitating the workshop.
Thank you to all students involved for your enthusiasm, teamwork and respect during the workshop.
