Kokoda School's Cup Challenge

On Saturday 2 June, a number of Year 10, 11 and 12 students participated in the Kokoda School's Cup Challenge (either a 30km or 48km hike).  All participants encompassed the Kokoda Spirit and showed Courage, Endurance, Mateship and Sacrifice. They really challenged themselves mentally and physically, particularly the Year 11 - 48km team, as they strolled in at 8:45pm, Saturday evening after 13.5 hours of blood, sweat and tears. We are so proud of these young adults who endured injuries, cramping, fatigue and a roller coaster of emotions.
Congratulations Lauren James, Declan MacMahon, Jacob Blundell, JJ Barry, Alicia Parkinson, Jen Alley, Lily Todd, Tauri Looker, Chloe Cavanagh, Sarah Galloway and Katelynne Saunders (absent).
A huge event like this couldn't have happened without the help of a number of awesome people. Thank-you to the following teachers who helped with training hikes and organisation: Ms Hooper, Ms Paskin, Mr and Mrs Hooper; Mr Sirdar, Mr Hurren and Ms Ralph for leading the teams on the day and the wonderful Ms James and Abigail, for being our support crew on the day. We would also like to thank Mr Hagland and the student council for raising over $600 and the Caboolture SHS staff for donating close to $300 to the teams!
