Towards the end of last term, on two separate days, selected students in Year 8 and students in Years 10, 11 and 12 were given the opportunity to attend a cultural day at QUT Confucius Centre in Kelvin Grove.  Students enjoyed a tea ceremony and craft activities, as well as being entertained with fan dancing and martial arts activities.  This was topped of with a scrumptious lunch, where many students were given the chance to practice their chopstick skills with noodles and rice.
This semester will also be a busy one with more Year 8 students starting their LOTE journey at Caboolture High and current Chinese students tackling new challenges with their Chinese in exciting and interesting units of work.  Good luck to all LOTE students with your studies; remember, as Nelson Mandela once said: "If you talk to a man in a language he understands - that goes to his head.  If you talk to him in his own language - that goes to his heart."
