At the end of Week 5,
the Biology class and two Science21 classes departed to North Stradbroke Island
for their field studies camp. We stayed at the picturesque Point Lookout SLSC
located between the gorge and Main Beach. Throughout the 3 day camp, the
students studied the following ecosystems: mangroves, fresh water swamp, sand
dune succession, beach erosion and fire study site. During their museum tour,
the students were informed about the history of the Island including the
controversies that development has brought to the island.
