School Captain News

Wow, already, what a year, starting off with a bang!  Day one, back and straight off to camp, was not only an amazing experience but also an educational one.  Learning to cooperate as a team and discovering our leadership qualities.  An extraordinary bond was created between our Year 12 cohort over the three days at Noosa North Shore Resort, which will benefit us immensely as this year we are no longer individuals with our studies, but more as one and we shall work together to achieve the best we can.
Straight into Week 2 and we have already slipped back into the rhythm of school.  As this is our last year of high school, we must maintain our focus and remain on the front foot of our schoolwork.  Although having our heads back into our books, we still managed to kick off our yearly house rivalry by having our annual swimming carnival, held on Tuesday, 11 February, which was a tremendous success with huge participation. The house spirit shown by all those who could attend was exemplary and the newly elected house leaders should be proud of their efforts.
On the following Thursday, we had our Leader Investiture Ceremony, in which we celebrated the beginning of our journey as  school captains, house captains and leaders, arts and rural captains and mentors, student council members and beacon ambassadors.  We are all looking forward to our responsibilities throughout 2014 and are jumping at every opportunity to get involved.
