Drama Excursion

On Wednesday, May 4, the senior composite Drama class was given the opportunity to view and experience Queensland Theatre Company’s matinee performance of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. With the company of their awesome teacher, Mrs Bell, the students travelled from school to the cultural hub of Southbank, where they enjoyed lunch of all kinds. There was not one student that did not relish in the hilarious, witty battle of the sexes that was the romantic comedy of Much Ado About Nothing. It’s not all fun and games, though, its back to school we go now to put our heads down and do this production the justice it so deserves by forming an analytical play review. Thank you to Mrs Bell for organising such an amazing day. It will definitely be one to remember.

Dance Eisteddfod

On Friday, May 6, our Junior and Senior Dance Eisteddfod teams represented Caboolture SHS at the Sunshine Coast Dance Eisteddfod.  With both teams performing to a high standard, our Senior Team was awarded a Highly Commended and our Junior Team was awarded a Very High Commended.  It is noteworthy that both of our teams competed in the school’s Open Category – an excellent achievement among such a high standard of competition. We now look forward to Brisbane Dance Eisteddfod which will take place for the Seniors on Friday, May 20 and for the Juniors on Thursday, May 26. Good luck to all students involved and thank you to parents/caregivers for your encouragement and support.

Year 7 Music Extension

Just a reminder to students who are involved in the Year 7 Music extension program that the Music Extension class will run in Term 3 as an elective with Mrs Mayfield. If you have any queries, please see Mrs Mayfield in P Block staffroom.

Fanfare

On Wednesday, June 1, the school’s concert band will compete at the annual Fanfare Competition at Banksia Beach State School. Students need to return permission forms as soon as possible and will need to listen out for the daily notices for information about their concert band uniform. We wish Mrs Moore and her performers the best of luck for the day.
Thank you,
