Year 10 Justice Studies Excursion

29/03/2018
On Thursday, Week 6, our Year 10 Justice Studies class went on an excursion to Queensland’s Parliament House in Brisbane.  We had an exclusive tour, learned about the order of proposing a bill, and participated in a mock parliamentary debate where we had the opportunity to express our views on whether we should extend school hours.  Some highlights of the day included touring the Legislative Assembly Chamber and the Parliamentary Library.

Students who went on the excursion said –

Ø  “It was really good to see what we have be learning about in action” Sharni
Ø  “It was Interesting to learn about the history” Ariel
Ø  “I liked looking at the library because it reminded me of Beauty and the Beast” Sienna
Ø  “It was informative about the legislative system” Tanvi

Overall it was a great day and we now feel really prepared to start our assignments.
