BYOD 1 supported choice

Families are encouraged to make BYOD as easy as possible by purchasing a device through HP’s education branch or Toshiba’s education SNAP program. Repairs are processed onsite and conducted in a timely manner by authorised repair agents, taking the pressure off parents to coordinate. Students can choose from a small number of devices, designed to suit EVERYDAY* or MEDIA* study needs.

Laptops should be ordered by the end of October to ensure students have their device by the start of the school year.

HP Portal

Access the portal here.

Contact Caboolture Computers for Toshiba options.
  1. Choose a HP device through their portal or a SNAP device through Toshiba(possibly Caboolture Computers on 5498 5430)
  2. Discuss options and EVERYDAY vs MEDIA* with vendors or school IT Support staff if necessary
  3. Order laptop
  4. Submit Participation Agreement and $80 to cashier. Present receipted Participation Agreement and laptop to school IT Support staff for connection and support with software

EVERYDAY devices

  • For most students, the EVERYDAY device will meet school needs. Its specifications are sufficient for everyday programs such as MS Office, electronic textbooks, online programs and web browsing.
  • An EVERYDAY device would be suitable for junior school
  •  Parents might like to consider an EVERYDAY device for junior years (7-9) and then weigh up student study interests for senior school and consider whether upgrading to a MEDIA device would be more appropriate or beneficial for their studies.

MEDIA devices

  • For students with a strong interest and focus in media-based subjects such as Graphics, IT and Art, a MEDIA device will be more appropriate. Students will need Adobe software which is available through the school.
  • NB Students of MEDIA subjects will have access to the necessary software on school computers, so students don't have to have their own laptop. However, it will be beneficial to their studies if they do.
