Lifestyle technology

In this area, there are two fully equipped kitchens to hospitality standards, including one large fully equipped catering kitchen, a dining area (Heron Restaurant), two sewing rooms, a laundry and two fitting rooms.

Industrial technology

We have a construction court, three large woodwork areas, three large metalwork areas, two design rooms and a Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) facility. Additional equipment for senior students provides for welding - oxy and electric, spray painting, machining using lathes, shapers and millers and wood working with band saws, jigsaws, lathes and finishers.


Our science facilities include eight specialist laboratories for chemistry, physics and biological science and preparation rooms, a dark room, an observatory and boat sheds. The school has five boats with outboard motors for marine education.

Information and communication technologies

We have six LearnIT classrooms, 11 dedicated computer labs and over 500 laptops available in various departments. All computers are connected to the network and internet and all teaching areas have wireless connectivity. Students have access to other devices, including scanners and digital cameras.

Health and physical education and sports facilities

The school has extensive well-grassed playing fields, which provide separate fields for soccer, rugby league, hockey, Australian Rules, cricket, two jumping pits, four asphalt netball courts, indoor volleyball, asphalt basketball courts, four asphalt tennis courts, two beach volleyball courts and three cricket practice wickets. There is also provision for an athletics track, shot and discus circles, and baseball and softball diamonds.

The activities centre has Taraflex sports flooring and provides a large enclosed area for badminton and indoor volleyball. Also in the activities centre are a staff room, resources room, toilets and weights room.

The school has abseiling and camping equipment for its outdoor education program and uses nearby community facilities for swimming, tenpin bowling and other sports.

Drama, music and dance

Two specialist buildings provide modern, streamlined facilities. The music building houses two music classrooms, three music practice rooms, and instrument storage space. The Performing Arts building is fully equipped with lighting and sound and is used for drama and dance evenings.


This area includes a kiln, with well-equipped art rooms and courtyard, enabling students to undertake studies in computer graphics and artwork, ceramics, sculpture, painting, drawing, printing and textiles and teachers' area.

School assembly hall

This provides a suitable venue for regular year level assemblies, special school functions, student performances and class groups with a need for space. It is also used by the wider community for dramatic productions, instruction classes and social functions. The facility is available for hire. Details may be obtained from the business services manager.

The school farm

The eight hectare school farm provides opportunities for students to develop skills in working with cattle, poultry and bees. They also learn about pastures, horticulture, plant propagation, aquaculture, farm mechanics, hydroponics and the operations of an electronic weather station.
