Excellence in the media
Sarah Harris attended Caboolture SHS from
1994 to 1998. She excelled academically
and participated in sport, debating, public speaking, the school musicals and
the Rock Eisteddfod. In Year 11, Sarah
participated in Work Experience at Channel 7 and, in Year 12, won the Open
Division of the Channel 9 Young Newsreader Award. In 1999, she was awarded the Australian Young
Writers’ Award for a story she submitted in Year 12.
Sarah started a degree in Journalism and
International Business at QUT, but began work with Prime Gold Coast News, as a
freelance television reporter and presenter in 2000. She moved to Channel Seven in Brisbane, and
then to Channel Nine. Sarah worked on
both the National Nine News and the Today program, covering news stories
around the state. In 2005, Sarah moved
to Sydney, where she moved between a number of Channel Nine programs, including
Nine News, Today, Mornings and Weekend
Today. Her news reporting has
covered the Brisbane floods, the Christchurch earthquake, the London Olympics
and Paralympics and the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. In 2013, Sarah moved to Channel 10 as the
anchor of their morning program, Studio
10, and in 2014, became the host of Shark
Tank. She was nominated for Best
Presenter in the 2017 Logies.
Sarah is a strong advocate for programs
against domestic violence and is
also passionate about the value of education for children. She is an Ambassador for both The Smith
Family in Australia, and the School for Life in Uganda.
